Abigail Laban Maina is a seasoned civil servant with more than two decades of experience in public service. She holds a master's degree in medical geology, concentrating on the intersection of mining and human health, and applies that expertise to advocate for safer, more resilient communities.
Beyond her professional commitments, Mrs. Maina has served faithfully in leadership for over thirty years, demonstrating resilience, dedication, and a passion for community development. Her leadership journey spans capacity-building, mentoring, and empowering others through inclusive, values-driven guidance.
She co-founded a non-governmental organization focused on skills development for women and youth and is a director in an agro-based enterprise. Mrs. Maina brings to the Board of Trustees a wealth of scientific insight, leadership experience, and integrity, making her an invaluable asset to Alkali Foundation's mission and vision.
